This review discusses the main functions of osteopontin, its role in the progression and chemoresistance of malignant neoplasms, in the regulation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition, angiogenesis, and the body’s immune response to the tumor. The article considers the currently known mechanisms by which osteopontin affects to the survival, mobility and invasion of tumor cells, to tumor sensitivity to drug treatment, as well as the prospects for a integrated study of the predictive significance of osteopontin, markers of hypoxia, angiogenesis, epithelial- mesenchymal transition, and immunological tolerance.</p>
В статье обсуждаются известные в настоящий момент механизмы, при помощи которых остеопонтин оказывает влияние на выживаемость, подвижность и инвазию опухолевых клеток, чувствительность опухоли к лекарственному лечению, а также представлены перспективы комплексного изучения предиктивной значимости этого белка, маркеров гипоксии, ангиогенеза, эпителиально-мезенхимального перехода и иммунологической толерантности.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>osteopontin</kwd><kwd>progression of malignant neoplasms</kwd><kwd>invasion</kwd><kwd>metastasis</kwd><kwd>epithelial-mesenchymal transition</kwd><kwd>immunological tolerance</kwd><kwd>hypoxia</kwd><kwd>angiogenesis</kwd><kwd>chemoresistance</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>остеопонтин</kwd><kwd>прогрессия злокачественных новообразований</kwd><kwd>инвазия</kwd><kwd>метастазирование</kwd><kwd>эпителиально-мезенхимальный переход</kwd><kwd>иммунологическая толерантность</kwd><kwd>гипоксия</kwd><kwd>ангиогенез</kwd><kwd>химиорезистентность</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Denhardt D.T., Guo X.
