These changes interpret the need to personalize treatment in each case.</p><p><bold>Objective</bold> – to evaluate the association of polymorphic variants of some genes with the results of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy of rectal cancer.</p><p><bold>Materials and methods. </bold>We analyzed polymorphic variants of MTHFR, XPD, XRCC1, XRCC1, P53, VEGF, EGFR, TNF, CHEK2 and MMP1 genes in 76 patients with rectal cancer who underwent preoperative chemoradiation therapy followed by surgical treatment. Genotyping was performed by DNA isolation from venous blood leukocytes of the subjects followed by polymerase chain reaction with electrophoretic detection of the result.</p><p><bold>Results.</bold> Statistical analysis of the association of polymorphic variants of the studied genes with the treatment pathomorphosis revealed significance in relation to the MMP1-1607 gene (1G &gt;2G) (p = 0.033). There was also an association of co-carrying polymorphic variants of TNF (G / A) + MMP1 (2G / 2G) genes with grade III–IV therapeutic pathomorphosis (p = 0.007).</p><p><bold>Conclusion. </bold>Carriage of recessive allele of MMP1 gene can be a predictor of favorable prognosis of preoperative chemoradiotherapy in patients with rectal cancer.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Введение. </bold>В последнее время отмечается тенденция к росту заболеваемости раком прямой кишки и снижению среднего возраста пациентов с данной патологией. Это вызывает необходимость персонализации лечения больных.</p><p><bold>Цель исследования</bold> – оценить ассоциацию полиморфных вариантов некоторых генов с результатами неоадъювантной химиолучевой терапии рака прямой кишки.</p><p><bold>Материалы и методы. </bold>Произведена оценка полиморфных вариантов генов MTHFR, XPD, XRCC1, XRCC1, P53, VEGF, EGFR, TNF, CHEK2 и MMP1 у 76 пациентов с раком прямой кишки, прошедших предоперационную химиолучевую терапию с последующим хирургическим лечением. Генотипирование выполнялось методом выделения ДНК из лейкоцитов венозной крови с последующим проведением полимеразной цепной реакции с электрофоретической схемой детекции результатов.</p><p><bold>Результаты. </bold>При проведении статистического анализа ассоциации полиморфных вариантов исследуемых генов с лечебным патоморфозом была отмечена значимость гена MMP1-1607 (1G &gt;2G) (p = 0,033). Также была выявлена ассоциация совместного носительства полиморфных вариантов генов TNF (G / A) и MMP1 (2G / 2G с лечебным патоморфозом III–IV степени) (p = 0,007).</p><p><bold>Заключение. </bold>Носительство рецессивного аллеля гена MMP1 может служить предиктором благоприятного прогноза предоперационной химиолучевой терапии у пациентов с раком прямой кишки.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>rectal cancer</kwd><kwd>gene polymorphism</kwd><kwd>colorectal cancer</kwd><kwd>neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>рак прямой кишки</kwd><kwd>полиморфизм генов</kwd><kwd>колоректальный рак</kwd><kwd>неоадъювантная химиолучевая терапия</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The study was performed with the support of I.P.
