Given the multifunctional potential of heterogeneous populations surrounding a tumor, targeting components of the microenvironment has long been regarded as a promising strategy in modern anticancer therapy. This review discusses the role of the components of the cellular microenvironment in carcinogenesis, analyzes in detail the main ways and mechanisms of action on the main cell populations, which are of the greatest interest in the context of the development of innovative anticancer therapy.</p>
В настоящем  обзоре проанализированы роль компонентов клеточного микроокружения в канцерогенезе, а также пути и механизмы воздействия на основные популяции клеток, представляющие наибольший интерес в контексте разработки новых подходов к лечению злокачественных опухолей.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>tumor microenvironment</kwd><kwd>malignant neoplasms</kwd><kwd>anticancer therapy</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>микроокружение опухоли</kwd><kwd>злокачественные новообразования</kwd><kwd>противоопухолевая терапия</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The study was financially supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russia (State Assignment No. FZEG-2023-0009 “Study of the heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment as a factor in its aggressiveness and resistance to therapy”).
