Doctor of Biological Sciences, the Leading Scientist of the Laboratory of Carcinogenesis Mechanisms of the Research Institute of Carcinogenesis of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, Ministry of Health of Russia (Moscow, Russia).

In 1979 graduated from the Department of Virology of the Biological Faculty of the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 1979–1983 – PhD student at Biological Department of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, defended her PhD thesis, and in 2012 – doctoral thesis, receiving doctoral degree in Biological Sciences, speciality 03.03.04 – Cell biology, Cytology, Histology. Since 2004 she is working at the Carcinogenesis Mechanisms Laboratory at N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, Ministry of Health of Russia. A.Y. Alexandrova is the PI of more than 10 research projects supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Russian Science Foundation, the organizer and leader from the Russian side of the International project “Search and characterization of new regulators of cell motility responsible for dissemination of tumor cells” within the Framework of the International Associated Laboratories (LIA) supported by Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research (Russia) and National Center for Scientific Research (France). She is the author of International patent and numerous scientific papers published in Russian and International Journals
