Ilshat G. Mustafin

Doctor of Medical Sciences, PhD, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Work of Kazan State Medical University" Ministry of Health of Russia (from 2014 to 2021), Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics of Kazan State Medical University, the Ministry of Health of Russia.

He graduated from the Kazan State Medical Institute in 1987, was Head of the Laboratory of Clinical Immunology of the Republican Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan (1992–2010), since 2006 - Head of the Department of Biochemistry of the Kazan State Medical University.

In 1999 he defended his PhD thesis “Lymphocyte phenotype and the state of the opsonophagocytic system, their correction in some bacterial infections (tonsillitis, salmonellosis)”. In 2005 he defended his doctoral thesis in the specialty “Pathological Physiology” on the topic “The role of lymphocyte apoptosis in the pathogenesis of HIV infection”. Area of scientific interests: biochemistry of blood coagulation, microvesiculation, molecular oncology, pathophysiology and immunology.

He was a mentor of 7 PhD and 1 doctoral thesises. Author of more than 200 scientific publications, 6 patents.

In 2010, he was awarded the A.D. Ado Prize, awarded by the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan for research in the field of allergology, immunology and general pathology. He is laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2017 in the field of science and technology for the work “Polyfunctional nanosystems for the innovative development of biocatalysis and biomedical technologies”
