Marina V. Nemtsova

Doctor of Medical Sciences, PhD, ScD, Professor of Genetics (2009). Now head of the laboratory of medical genetics at the Institute of Molecular Medicine of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, Ministry of Health of Russia (Sechenov University).

Graduated 2nd N.I. Pirogov Moscow State Medical Institute, faculty of Biomedicine, in 1986. Since then, has worked in the Research Centre for Medical Genetics.

Awards: the first prize in fundamental medical research, Presidium of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (2001), the gold medal for research work “Oncogenomics for Practical Medicine” carried out as part of the Human Genome Program, the First International Salon of Innovations and Investments (2001), the badge of honor “Excellence in Healthcare” (2018).

Main research area — molecular oncogenetics. In recent years, supervised extensive research in molecular oncology of gastrointestinal and breast cancer. From 2017 to 2021 was in charge of Russian Foundation for Basic Research grants on molecular genetics of stomach cancer.

Is the co-author of six patents and over 200 research publications in national and leading international scientific journals, reviews, monographs, and educational materials.

Supervised 15 theses in Genetics and Oncology for the degree of Candidate of Medical and Biological Sciences. She is an authorized expert of the Directorate of Scientific and Technical Programs and of the Federal Register of Scientific and Technical Experts
