Likhtenshtein Anatoliy Vladimirovich

DSc, Head of the Tumor Biochemistry Group of the Department of Experimental Biology of the Research Institute of Carcinogenesis, N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Oncology Center, Ministry of Health of Russia.

A.V. Likhtenshtein’s scientific interests include evolutional origins of cancer, role of mutagenesis in development of genetic mosaicism, methods of mutation screening in tumor tissue and biological fluids, liquid biopsy of malignant tumors. Results of his research on the ways of dying cells’ DNA excretion from the body (using model organisms and clinical material) showed possibility of using “transrenal” DNA to detect tumor growth in the body.

A.V. Likhtenshtein is a member of the United Scientific Board of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Oncology Center, Scientific Board of the Research Institute of Carcinogenesis and specialized Scientific Board on DSc theses at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Oncology Center.
