Graduated from Pirogov Medical Institute, Biomedical Faculty in 1977, majoring in biochemistry. After finishing his PhD studies at N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center in 1980 he worked in Tumor Biochemistry Laboratory of Research Institute of Carcinogenesis. Since 2002 heading Molecular Endocrinology Laboratory at Research Institute of Carcinogenesis, since 2013 – director of Research Institute of Carcinogenesis of N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center. Candidate of Biology (1982), Doctor of Biology (1994), Professor (2008).

The main scientific areas are devoted to oncoendocrinology, biochemical and molecular biological mechanisms of steroid hormones’ action on tumor cells. Author of 2 patents for inventions and over 200 scientific papers. Editor-in-chief of “Advances in molecular oncology”, member of the editorial boards of “Journal of N. N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center”, “Siberian journal of oncology”, A Cancer Journal for Clinicians.
